Bay Haven Farm consists of just under 40 acres and sits at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  The farm is currently home to rare and heritage breed animals such as Cleveland Bay Horses, Corriedale Sheep, Heritage Breed Hens, Pure Spanish Goats, Heritage Turkeys, Large Black Hogs, Berkshire Pigs, dairy goats, and Anatolian Shepherd Dogs (whose job it is to protect them all).  We work the farm and care for all the animals ourselves as a human family of four.

We created Practically Country because the list of “Farm to Table” and “Farm to Home” products that we were creating was very different from the breeding
and livestock side of our farm.  Since Bay Haven Farm is a heritage breeds farm, our main goal was to breed stock whose genetics were in danger of being lost through changes in the way animals were being bred for high volume, high yield stock operations.  Whilst many of our animals such as the goats, pigs, and sheep can be used as product for humans to enjoy; we also breed these animals and sell them as breed stock in an effort to keep them producing and thriving.
All of our animals live “out” with field shelters and are pasture raised, or free range depending upon their species.  We do not use any growth hormones or antibiotics and provide feed to supplement the animals’ natural grazing.  The end result is a stress-free pasture raised and grass fed animal of the highest quality. We encourage you to peruse the links to the right for additional information about each product.  Each link above gives additional information about the products.  Enjoy a slideshow of photos below the list of items listed for sale.
